Meriden School Readiness Council Co-Chair
-
Castle Craig Players Board Member
-
Meriden Knights of Columbus
-
MidState Medical Center Corporator
Kevin first took an interest in public office after serving as a Board of Education student representative for Platt High School during his senior year in 2007. Upon graduating, he became more involved and took an interest in education for Meriden’s youth and was elected to the Board of Education in 2009.
Always keeping Meriden and its residents at the forefront of his decisions, Kevin chose to run for an at-large seat on the Meriden City Council and was elected to office in 2011. Kevin served as the Chair of the Public Safety committee, working toward efforts to keep Meriden’s neighborhoods and streets safe.
Since 2015 Kevin has served as the 50th Mayor of the great City of Meriden and is seeking re-election this fall. The residents of Meriden have seen a significant amount of work being done with respect to projects throughout our city-center and across our community. Economic Development continues to thrive along East Main Street, the Meriden Green earned national recognition, we have built two 21st century high schools with Platt and Maloney, and we continue to cleanup blighted properties and seek private development to grow Meriden’s tax base.
This past year and a half, the world was rocked by the COVID-19 pandemic. While businesses have struggled to keep their lights on and families mourn the loss of their loved ones, Kevin has worked closely with Meriden’s Health and Human Services Department, public safety personnel, and city staff, to help keep Meriden residents safe, informed, and get back on their feet.
This election, Kevin has announced he will be seeking re-election for his fifth term as Mayor and hopes he can count on your support this November. Meriden is home to a hardworking and diverse population that has the drive and spirit to succeed and Kevin will help assure all of Meriden’s residents will continue to have a voice.
